Bid on the match jerseys and support the victims in Morocco

The severe earthquake that struck Morocco on the night of September 8th to 9th has taken an especially heavy toll, both in terms of human and material loss. To support the thousands of families affected by this disaster, we as a club would like to contribute to the reconstruction of the countless destroyed villages. Therefore, after the match against Royal Antwerp FC, we will hold an auction where everyone can bid on the jersey of their favorite player.

As a close-knit family club, we were deeply moved by the tragic images that were broadcasted over the past days from the many affected villages in Morocco. Following the call of the Pro League, where all league matches will be preceded by a minute of silence as a sign of solidarity for the victims of the natural disaster, we at KVC Westerlo would like to make an extra effort to support the affected families through a generous donation.

Help as a fan

But you as a fan can also do your part, either by making a donation through the Koning Boudewijnstichting or by bidding on the match jerseys of our Kemphanen against Royal Antwerp FC. Additionally, our assistant coach Mo Messoudi will provide a unique collector’s item that will also be auctioned off.

The funds collected through the donations and the auction via Match Worn Shirt will initially be used for humanitarian emergency aid provided by on-ground organizations; the Moroccan Red Crescent, the Banque Alimentaire, and the International Blue Crescent Relief and Development Foundation. These funds will be used to provide shelter, food, drinking water, medicines, and healthcare for the affected families.”
