KVC Westerlo – Sparta Rotterdam

Match report

Once again the weather gods were not kind to us for this last (practice) match of the year, as the rain poured down in the first half and in the second half we had to deal with a strong wind.

Our coach started with eleven players who had received no or hardly any playing minutes against Antwerp. The first half ended as it had started (0-0). There were goals in the second half. Twice, Tuur Dierckx was involved twice via a set piece. At 1-0, our number 55 kicked a corner kick, which was misjudged by a Rotterdam defender and ended up in the goal via his head (1-0). Then Tuur kicked a free kick straight into goal (2-0). 15 minutes before the end, the Dutchman sweetened the score by kicking the ball past Nick Gillekens after a fine move (2-1).
