Younited Pro League

GENERAL

Different timing, same formula: auction for Younited Belgium takes over the football weekend

Don’t call it the Jupiler Pro League, the Challenger Pro League or the Lotto Super League this coming weekend. In support of social partner Younited Belgium, all three competitions will temporarily adopt the unified name Younited Pro League. Our players will sign the shirts they wear on Saturday and donate them to the charity. Our ladies’ team is also contributing a signed team shirt. Until Friday 28 November (7 p.m.), you can bid on these shirts and many other great specials via mws.com/younited-belgium, the perfect gift to put under the Christmas tree! All proceeds go to Younited Belgium, which creates football teams where vulnerable people find support, structure and a sense of belonging. To highlight this good cause, sponsors Jupiler and Lotto will temporarily step aside and hand over their naming rights to Younited Belgium for the weekend.

Lorin Parys, CEO of the Pro League:
“This year, we are organising our solidarity campaign earlier than usual so that the entire Belgian football community can raise the flag for Younited Belgium on the same weekend. Fans can place unique gifts under the Christmas tree, each with a special story and a powerful message of hope. Younited Belgium has shown for years how football can provide stability for people. Reaching 60 teams and 2,000 participants today is the result of the continuous dedication of clubs, players, partners and supporters. It’s this shared commitment that makes football a lever for real change. Together, we show that football is more than a sport alone.”

Younited Belgium on the sleeve badge

The campaign keeps its successful formula but gets a refresh. It no longer takes place during the Christmas period. This way, the action runs across all competitions on the same weekend, and fans can still place their acquired shirts or specials under the tree as a unique Christmas gift. The participating clubs’ shirts have been updated for the campaign and now feature a more premium look. The Pro League is giving up space on its sleeve badge, making room for its social partner by replacing the previous chest stickers.

Bert Ballegeer, coordinator of Younited Belgium, highlights the campaign’s impact:
“The clubs and the Pro League are not only indispensable partners throughout the year, but with this solidarity action, they once again demonstrate the strength of our shared story. Thanks to their efforts — both on and off the pitch — we receive not only crucial funds, but also a voice and visibility that are invaluable to our players.”

About Younited Belgium

For years, Younited Belgium has provided a safe space where vulnerable people can be themselves, rediscover themselves and grow. The slogan ‘My team, my home’ perfectly reflects this mission. Younited players — often facing challenges such as poverty, addiction, mental health struggles or housing insecurity — find a home within their team. Here, they rebuild their self-confidence and work towards a brighter future. Regardless of race, origin, religion or social background: those who have teammates will always find support somewhere. Younited Belgium also provides guidance related to housing, mental health, wellbeing, poverty or addiction. Within their team environment, players gain confidence, structure and connections with support workers and peers.

Younited Westel x Gantoise Plantrekkers

KVC Westerlo and KAA Gent each have their own Younited team. This Saturday, we want to give them an unforgettable afternoon. During the day, both teams will play a friendly match, share a meal and form a guard of honour on the pitch. Afterwards, they will watch the match together. Cheer them on loudly before kick-off and give them a warm round of applause. Show them they’re not alone, they are part of the big KVC Westerlo and KAA Gent family.
