Kemphanen on international duty
The league may be taking a short break, but for many of our Kemphanen, there is anything but rest. Several players will trade the yellow and blue colours for those of their national teams in the coming days. From Japan and Denmark to Wales and Belgium, KVC Westerlo will once again be represented around the world during this international break.
A busy international period awaits Shunsuke Saito. Our Japanese Kemphaan is part of Japan’s senior squad and has a packed schedule ahead of him on home soil. Japan will face Uruguay, Venezuela and Ecuador in succession before rounding off the international period with a fourth game in Tokyo.

Andreas Jungdal – Denmark
Andreas Jungdal has once again been called up to the Denmark national team. Our number 99 has now been rewarded for his performances at Westerlo with another place in the squad.
Denmark have four matches on the schedule this time around.

Cameron Congreve – Wales
Cameron Congreve will join up with the Wales national team during this international break. Our midfielder has a busy international schedule ahead of him, with four matches on the programme.
Wales open their campaign against Portugal in Lisbon before facing Denmark twice, with a home game against Norway in Cardiff in between.

Lasse Flø Borregaard – Denmark U21
Flo Borregaard will also be representing his country after being included in the Denmark U21 squad.
Borregaard will face Belarus, Austria and Belgium. The latter fixture will of course have an extra Westerlo touch, as several of his teammates could line up against him on the Belgian side.

Min-Hyeok Yang – Korea U23
Min-hyeok Yang is also on international duty during this period. Our South Korean Kemphaan is representing South Korea U23 at the U23 Asian Cup, where he will get the chance to test himself against some of Asia’s best young talents. Another great international experience for Yang alongside his matches in the yellow and blue.

Two Kemphanen with the Young Devils
KVC Westerlo is also strongly represented in the Belgium U21 squad during this international break. Norman Bassette and Amando Lapage have both been included in the Young Devils’ squad.
It will be a special international break for our two Kemphanen. Belgium will play their first two matches at ’t Kuipje, against Belarus and Wales. On 6 October, they will travel to Denmark, where they could come up against teammate Flo Borregaard.

Our yellow and blue colours will also be represented elsewhere. Jahnilo Wiegel-Triebel will join up with the Suriname national team, while Naoufel Bohamdi will link up with Morocco U20 and Reda Laalaoui has been selected for Morocco U23. Dino Delić will also be on international duty with Austria U19. This means our Kemphanen will be represented across different continents and youth levels during this international break. No fixtures have been included in the schedule received for Laalaoui for the time being.
