KVC Westerlo secure Portuguese talent

KVC Westerlo have secured the services of promising Portuguese talent Afonso Patrão. The 18-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract for 4,5 seasons, strengthening the attacking line of the Kemphanen.

Afonso joins from Portuguese top club SC Braga, where he scored his very first goal for the club in memorable fashion. On 7 April 2025, his equaliser against Sporting CP proved to be a decisive moment in the game.

Afonso has also impressed on the international stage. Since the U15s, he has progressed through all youth levels of the Portuguese national team, earning 54 caps and scoring 17 goals. Last September, he made his debut for Portugal U19, featuring among others in a game against Belgium U19.
