International break highlights
During the recent international break, four KVC Westerlo players represented their national teams.
Josimar Alcócer (Costa Rica)
Josimar Alcócer had two World Cup qualifying matches on the schedule.
- Haiti – Costa Rica: 1-0
Alcócer started the match and was substituted after 72 minutes. Unfortunately, the Ticos were unable to take any points from Haiti. - Costa Rica – Honduras: 0-0
At home against Honduras, Alcócer played the full 90 minutes. Costa Rica failed to score and had to settle for a point.
Arthur Piedfort (Belgium U21)
Arthur Piedfort was called up to the Belgian U21 squad.
- Austria U21 – Belgium U21: 1-0
Arthur remained on the bench for the full 90 minutes and did not take part in the game. The Young Red Devils narrowly lost in Austria.
Dire Mebude (Scotland U21)
In the home match against Bulgaria U21, Mebude started and scored the decisive goal in the 37th minute.
- Scotland U21 – Bulgaria U21: 1-0
Eliot Bujupi (Kosovo U21)
Eliot Bujupi had an especially productive international break and stood out for the Kosovo U21 team.
- Cyprus U21 – Kosovo U21: 0-4
Bujupi played a strong match and scored twice. - Finland U21 – Kosovo U21: 0-0
In Finland, Bujupi wore the captain’s armband. He started the match and was substituted after 77 minutes. Kosovo secured an important point on the road.
