Westerlo wins practice match against Beerschot

KVC Westerlo started the match with their starting eleven against first division side Beerschot VA. At Beerschot, names like Holzhauser, Dom, Pietermaat, Frans and Brogno were in the line-up. The Antwerp club did not travel to ’t Kuipje with a glorified B team. Westerlo took the upper hand in the first half and created some excellent chances via Van Eenoo, Abrahams and Çiçek. Biebauw was on standby every time, which resulted in an equal score after the referee’s whistle.

KVC Westerlo started the second half with as much fighting spirit and footballing ability. Our team had the best of the game and controlled the match. At the start of the second half, Mabea raced past everyone and everything on the left flank. The ivorian swatted the ball in front of goal where Vaesen was able to lay the ball back to Gboho at the far post. The striker managed to work the ball into the goal in a crowded penalty area.

Westerlo kept control of the game and won its practice match against Beerschot thanks to Ambroise Gboho’s goal.
