First half: 0-1
Line-up KVC Westerlo: Van Langendonck, Janssens, Yameogo, Seigers, Soumah, Seydoux, Keïta, Van Eenoo, Alici, Vetokele, Çiçek
Westerlo again started the match eagerly and had some good chances, including a shot by Çiçek that hit the post. Yet it was RWDM that managed to take the lead. Medhi Terki opened the scoring for the team from Brussels. Westerlo could not find an immediate answer and RWDM controlled the match. A strong pep talk from coach Bob Peeters had to bring solace in the second half.
Second half: 2-2
Immediately after the break, our Turkish goal-getter managed to score the equaliser. Çiçek kicked the ball in and brought our team back in the game. The joy was short-lived, as Glenn Claes was able to score after the Westerlo defence failed to keep the ball out of the penalty area. Westerlo went for the final offensive with a triple change. Mabea, Dierckx and Perdichizzi had to bring fresh fighting spirit. This approach paid off, as Westerlo got back on level terms through Keïta. Despite the exciting final minutes, our two teams did not get any further than that tonight.
With only two games to go, it is important to end the season in good shape and build on next season.
