Reactions after the deserved victory against KMSK Deinze

Lukas Van Eenoo:

“I think we needed a game like this where we really dominated and came up with a lot of opportunities. It’s a great result which I hope we can now continue, play a good match again on Sunday and then the results will come from ourselves. We have been playing better again for a while now after the corona infections”.

“The match at Club NXT was less but if we finish our chances we might win a business victory there. It doesn’t always have to be nice and efficient. You can’t be top of the league for a whole season but then we have to be a bit more mature and then we are a team that is hard to beat. We have tried to collectively compensate for the absence of Christian Brüls. Both on and off the field he is a very important player for us. So it was a bit of a shock when we heard that Christian was not going to play”.

“We are not satisfied with 14 out of 30. We shouldn’t focus on the balls with Union but watch game by game. It can go fast in 1B, we have few teams so if you can win a match you can quickly go up in the rankings”.

Bob Peeters:

“In the home game against RWDM I had the feeling that we could put the difficult period behind us. Against Club NXT the first half was still acceptable but we had physical problems in the second half and were not good enough playing football. Today we’ve put the finishing touches to the i’s and brought back a strong performance that we want to see as a team. We are happy with this match but Sunday will be another difficult match against Seraing”.

“Seraing has a week to recover and we only have 4 days. Let us hope that this is enough for us. It’s a weird season because of covid-19. It is adjusting every week. It’s a weird season, hopefully we are now getting under steam and we can still gather enough points”.

“I don’t look at the first 15 games straight away but that we could have had more points is a fact. It is a very long season, without period titles. There are still 18 matches where there are still a lot of points to collect and you can see that outside Union everything is still on a handkerchief of each other. We just need to have the same mentality and attitude every match today and try to build on that”.

“Every week we have to wait and see what the results of the tests will bring. It’s constant shifting and adjusting but we just have to prepare each match as if it were a final”.
