Not efficient

Bob Peeters had to start today’s match without vice-captain Lukas Van Eenoo. The West-Fleming injured his shoulder in last weekend’s top game against Seraing and was still not 100%. Peeters’ coach opted for the same concept as last weekend and moved regular Igor Vetokele a row back. Plumain came into the team to provide Atabey Çiçek with the necessary support.

It was a first half without any real 100% chances. Lommel were dangerous with some long distance shots, but either goalie Berke was present or the shot was blocked by our faithful back line. Westerlo themselves got out to a dangerous start via Abrahams. The South African was allowed to shoot at goal twice but twice a Lommel leg prevented him from doing so.

Westerlo started the second half strongly, with a lot of drive and pressure, but could not find the right opening to take the lead. The green and white did find the hole and were able to break open the score in the final quarter. Moreno’s goal proved to be the match-winner. Our teammates will be anxiously looking forward to the Seraing game tonight, and will also see Lommel SK leapfrog in the standings.
