First Half

The first chance of the game is for Westerlo, Kyan Vaesen delivers a good cross towards the far post where Maxim De Cuyper is free. He did not hit the ball well and the shot went wide. A few minutes later the ball went into the net for the Kemphans, Lukas Van Eenoo working it into the goal on his left from a pass by Tuur Dierckx. 1-0.

After 27 minutes of football, Virton found the Westelse goal for the first time, but our goalie David Jensen had no problem keeping the ball out of his reach.

A few minutes later Edisson Jordanov managed to break through on the right flank, he played the ball to Kyan Vaesen who scored with a hard shot that unfortunately ricocheted off the bar. Maxim De Cuyper managed to win the ball in the rebound and plays towards Jan Bernat, who kicks at goal but the Virton goalkeeper was well in between.

Ten minutes later it is again Jan Bernat who, after a great action, brings the ball to Kyan Vaesen. Kyan kicks at goal but again goalkeeper Anthony Sadin was right there.

Westerlo went into the break with a strong and well-deserved lead.

Second Half

In the second half the level of play was a lot lower than in the first half. After 67 minutes Virton had their second chance of the game, but the ball went far wide.

In the 79th minute, debutant Fernand Gouré gets the chance to make it 0-2 with a shot on an open goal, but just like in the first half, the ball doesn’t get in.

A few minutes later, the ball did reach the net for our Kemphanen. Tuur Dierckx made a wonderful move on the right flank, passing his man. He then passed the ball on to Jan Bernat who put it in the net. 0-2 in the 81st minute.

With this score the game is also finished. A well-deserved victory for our Kemphanen.
