Mouth mask mandatory in and around the stadium

Dear supporter,

This weekend, we welcome you again for the game KVC Westerlo – RE Mouscron. This is a great gift at a time when Covid-19 strikes hard again and all sorts of things are no longer allowed.

The measures that the government has just taken are severe. But they are much needed to reduce that foul beast. Soccer is being spared for the time being. That’s only because the government is factoring in our impact on social welfare. Soccer connects, soccer scatters, soccer makes you dream, soccer brings hope in these confusing times. But soccer also has an exemplary role and we need to take it up NOW.

This weekend we must show our solidarity with all those who do have to make sacrifices now to push back Covid. This weekend we must be happy that we can continue to play our connecting role. And this weekend, above all, we must earn our place in weathering the pandemic.

Mouth masks are crucial to this. Mouth masks stop the transmission of the virus. Mouth masks save lives. Yes, mouth masks are annoying. Yes, we were so happy that the government relaxed the mouth mask requirement over the summer. But unfortunately, the mouth mask remains one of the biggest weapons in reducing the pandemic. And in that, soccer wants to set a great example.

All of our players will take to the field in the coming months with mouth masks and will put on their mouth masks immediately after the final whistle to start saluting you. Join in, support with your mouth mask, preferably the one of the club. Show that soccer is fighting to eradicate Covid from the world as soon as possible.
