First Half

In the tenth minute, we are in danger for a moment. After a Rubin Seigers foul, the ball ended up in Daniel Maderner’s hands and we ended up in a 3 vs 2 situation. Maderner decided to kick the ball on target and Pietro Perdichizzi threw himself into the path of the shot.

Ten minutes later, we almost benefit from a mistake in the defense of the Waaslanders. Tshimanga played the ball back to Da Costa badly and Daci conquered the ball. Jackers comes out well and gets rid of the ball. In minute 25 Pietro Perdichizzi was forced to make a mistake and received a yellow card. So we won’t see him at work in the game against Lommel.

The score is opened by Waasland-Beveren in minute 29. The ball possession is given away too easily in the defence. Bertone kicked at goal and the ball deflected off Rubin Seigers’ leg and into the net, 1-0. Just before half time, Jordanov put the ball well in front of the goal, but Bernat headed just over. After 45 minutes of football we went into the dressing room 1-0 down.

Second Half

In the second half our Kemphans were not having a good time either. In minute 61 Waasland-Beveren doubled their lead through Daniel Maderner. Coach Jonas De Roeck decided to make some changes and brought on Thomas Van den Keybus and newcomer Tibo Persyn. In minute 74 Lukas Van Eenoo scores the equaliser. The ball was first cleared by the Waasland defence, after which our captain kicked it in from distance, 2-1.

Fernand Goure was able to break through towards goal at his first touch. However, the attack was stopped after a good tackle by Jacob Buus. In the final phase of the match, we were awarded a free kick, and even goalkeeper David Jensen stepped forward. We were unable to equalise though, so we went back to Westerlo with a 2-1 loss.
