Match report STVV – KVC Westerlo

Today we went to Stayen to play an friendly match against STVV. Normally the match consisted of two halves of 60 minutes, but after consultation it was decided to stick to a 90 minute match. The match ended 2-1 in favour of STVV.

First Half

The following Kemphanen started the match: Koen Van Langendonck, Edisson Jordanov, Simon Paulet, Kyan Vaesen, Léo Seydoux, Kouya Mabea, Dimitrije Jovanovic, Rubin Seigers, Guy Yameogo and Thomas Ephestion.

The game gets off to a slow start with few good chances on both sides. In the 20th minute, the referee awards a free kick in favour of STVV and decides to consult the VAR. After looking at the images, he decides to send Kouya Mabea off the pitch, Westerlo has to play the remaining 70 minutes with one man less.

Fifteen minutes later, STVV was awarded another free kick. The ball was passed in the direction of the sixteen and Ghandri tried to work it away. The ball ended up at the feet of Mory Konate who put it in the far corner, 1-0 for STVV.

Second Half

At halftime almost the whole team was changed, only Seydoux stayed on. So we played in the second half with the following players: David Jensen, Pietro Perdichizzi, Lukas Van Eenoo, Basilio Ndong, Noël Soumah, Igor Vetokele, Léo Seydoux, Tuur Dierckx, Lorenzo Noviello, Daan Driesen, Mamoutou N’Diaye and Lars Neyens.

A little after the start of the second half Sint-Truiden makes a blunder in their defence. Vetokele took excellent advantage of this and put the 1-1 on the scoreboard. In the 65th minute STVV again went for the goal and Oleksandr Filipov managed to work the ball into the goal.

A few minutes later, STVV score again, this time it is not offside and the goal counts. The 2-1 is a fact and with this score the game ends.
