Match report KVC Westerlo – STVV

This afternoon, ‘de Kanaries’ from Sint-Truiden made the short trip to ‘De Parel der Kempen’ for a practice game during the international break. One player to look forward to was Shinji Kagawa. The Japanese player played for Dortmund and Man. United. At our side, Roman Neustädter was given 90 minutes by coach Jonas De Roeck.

First Half

Both teams had their affairs in order defensively in the first half, which gave us a closed first half. The first threat was a shot from STVV from an slanted angle, but Jensen had no problems with that.

Just before half time, our teammates got a corner kick. Fixelles got behind the ball, played to Van den Keybus who, after running into the back, played to Van Eenoo. Van Eenoo in turn swung the ball in front of goal and Soumah headed the ball past Vanmarsenille. 1-0 was also the score at halftime.

Second Half

After half time we saw many new faces in both teams. STVV managed to equalise early in the second half. 1-1.

In a balanced game Westerlo got a penalty in minute 72 after an individual dribble by Fixelles. Paulet got behind the ball and brought the team back into the lead. 2-1. This was also the final score.
