First half

The first offensive threat comes from the Westel side. Jan Bernat hits a great shot from distance but it is blocked by Fiermarin. A few minutes later, the ball did arrive for our Kemphans. The birthday captain, Lukas Van Eenoo, put the 1-0 on the net after a cross had first been blocked by the Lommel defence.

Westerlo seems to be very hungry for goals. The chances keep coming, but they are not converted into goals yet. Things are more difficult at Lommel. Our goalkeeper David Jensen has not had to make a save in the first half hour of the game.

In minute 36 Lyle Foster is able to break through on the right flank after a nice long ball from Thomas Van den Keybus. Lyle goes for a shot on goal, but sees his shot go wide. The players go into the dressing rooms with a 1-0 lead.

Second Half

The second half has only just started when the 2-0 is put on the scoreboard. Maxim De Cuyper hit his shot from distance but it was blocked by Lommel goalkeeper Fiermarin. The ball wasn’t clamped, however, so Erdon Daci just had to put his foot against the ball to put it in the net in the rebound. Less than two minutes later Daci nodded the ball into the goal again after a beautiful cross from Fixelles, but the flag went up and the score remained 2-0.

In minute 61, Westerlo scores again. Foster comes in from the left and hits the target. Again the ball lands in the rebound at the feet of a Westel player, this time Jan Bernat. 3-0.

After 65 minutes of soccer, coach Jonas De Roeck decides to make the first substitutions. Goalkeeper Jan Bernat leaves the field for Tibo Persyn, Noël Soumah replaces Guy-Serge Yaméogo.

The match is played out quietly in the last half hour. Lommel hits the bar but does not score a goal. The match ends 3-0, the points remain in Westerlo.
