Match report KVC Westerlo – K. Beerschot VA

This afternoon our Kemphans played a friendly match against Beerschot. They were easily sidelined and had to head back to Kiel with a 4-0 score.

Both teams opted to bring on boys who had been a little less visible in recent weeks. Westelse saw Igor Vetokele back on the field and Christoffer Remmer was also in the core after months of injury.

We scored a very early opening goal. In minute 4, Lyle Foster rolled down Beerschot’s right flank. He reached Kyan Vaesen, who did not hesitate for a second to make it 1-0.

Beerschot were looking to the stars from the sky at one point. This resulted in a second goal a few minutes later. The author this time was Léo Seydoux. He was able to beat goalkeeper Antoine Lejoly in two times after yet another fine preparation (2-0).

Just before the half hour mark, number three was already in the basket. The authors were the same as for the first goal. Foster with the preparatory work and Kyan Vaesen who kicked the ball hard into the roof of the goal (3-0).

The second half was of a lower standard. The chances were scarcer and Beerschot got a bit more into the game. In minute 70 we had some excitement again. After a clever action between Foster and Daci, goalkeeper Lejoly was able to work the ball into a corner. The corner kick was at first deflected by the Beerschot defence, but it was Lorenzo Noviello who could shoot the ball into the goal in one go (4-0).

Simon Paulet was also close to scoring. His free kick was expertly kept out by the keeper. The final act of the game came from the visitors. Krekovic shot at goal, but with a nice floating jump goalie Jensen kept his nets clean.
