Match report KVC Westerlo – Alemannia Aachen

Our ‘Kemphanen’ training camp – in the Proximus Basecamp in Tubize – ended with a game on pitch 5 against Alemannia Aachen. For those who don’t know this German fourth division team, they are currently in 18th place (out of 20) in their series. The first (half) chance was in minute 14. Lyle Foster could decide on goal, but his shot was too weak to really embarrass the German goalkeeper. Lukas Van Eenoo’s shot, a few minutes later, was more difficult to deal with. Still, the score was not opened until around the half hour mark. Rubin Seigers was brought down in the sixteen, and Lyle Foster took responsibility from the eleven meter mark (1-0). It was not until the 37th minute that the Germans were able to counter for the first time. Goalkeeper Jensen was ready. On the counter attack Kyan Vaesen headed just wide and just after that the beautiful equalizer fell. After a poor clearance in the Westel defense Falaye was able to neatly pin the ball into the top left corner (1-1). Before halftime (it was opted to play 2×60 minutes) Pietro Perdichizzi was able to put a big smile on the face of our setpieces coach Mo Messoudi. He headed a corner kick in flawlessly (2-1).

In the second half we noted 5 substitutions. The game was just getting underway and Kyan Vaesen was able to deepen the score. He went through alone on the right flank and placed the ball neatly past the goalkeeper (3-1). Erdon Daci and Simon Paulet also had chances to increase the score, but both went wide of the goal. The tying goal came after an unfortunate ball deflection by Fernand Gouré, allowing the German striker to simply kick the ball past Koen Van Langendonck. The (4-2) was scored by our top marksman Erdon Daci. In 2 times Léo Seydoux was able to reach Erdon, who placed the ball masterfully next to the goalkeeper. So this training period ended on a positive note and we can look forward to the important league game next week against Deinze.
