Match report KV Mechelen – KVC Westerlo

Today we played our second friendly of the season against KV Mechelen. The match took place on a beautiful Sunday afternoon on the grounds of K.F.C. Katelijne.

First Half

Line-up: David Jensen, Edisson Jordanov, Rubin Seigers, Pietro Perdichizzi, Kouya Mabea, Nader Ghandri, Simon Paulet, Lukas Van Eenoo, Tuur Dierckx, Kyan Vaesen, Igor Vetokele.

The first half had only just started when Kyan Vaesen converted the first chance of the match into a goal in the third minute.

Fifteen minutes, KV Mechelen created a chance from a corner. David Jensen managed to save the ball at the first attempt, but in the rebound it went into the goal.

In the 36th minute, Kyan Vaesen scored his second goal of the game. Igor Vetokele passed the ball from the left flank, and then it was Kyan Vaesen who kicked it into the far corner in one go.

Then our Kemphanen had two more good chances just before half-time. First it was Igor Vetokele who headed the ball on target, but the goalkeeper had a grip on it. A few minutes later Kyan Vaesen found himself alone in front of goal, but goalkeeper Yannick Thoelen was well in between. We went into the break 1-2.

Second half

Line-up: Koen Van Langendonck (in: 45′, out: 73′), Kristof Van Hout (73′), Noël Soumah (60′), Guy-Serge Yaméogo (60′), Matias Lloci (60′), Léo Seydoux (60′), Basilio Ndong (60′), Thomas Ephestion (60′), Dimitrije Jovanovic (60′), Daan Driesen (60′), Lorenzo Noviello (60′), Lars Neyens (60′)

At half-time one substitution was made. Koen Van Langendonck came to defend the Westelse goal in place of David Jensen. Koen unfortunately had to leave the field prematurely due to an injury.

In the second half, we manage to score early as well. Edisson Jordanov made a very good run and passed the ball to the edge of the sixteen. Here stands Lukas Van Eenoo who manages to put the ball beautifully into the top right corner, 1-3 for Westerlo.

In the 60th minute the entire team was changed. The second half went very quiet for the rest of the match with few good chances. After four minutes of extra time the final whistle sounds, we win the match with a beautiful 1-3 final score.
