Lloci: “It gave me goose bumps when they scanned my name”
Matias Lloci made his debut for KVC Westerlo last Sunday in the cup match. The young man from Ghent is one of the summer transfers and with 2 assists he got noticed immediately and many finer actions. The supporters gave him a well-deserved change of applause. We sat together with Matias and asked him some questions:
How do you like it here? Who took care of you and with which players do you have the most contact?
I really like it here in Westerlo. I have to say that everyone on the team welcomed me very well and included me in the group. The coaching staff also helped me a lot.
First time basis, 2 assists, nice entry!
I would like to thank the coach and the whole staff for the trust they have in me. And also my teammates who trust me on the field. I feel better and better, I hope that I can continue to grow in this way and put a lot of defenders in the wind and give assists for the team.
You were clearly surprised by the reaction of the public after your change. What went through your head when they spontaneously started applauding?
The supporters were really great, I didn’t realise until they scanned my name that it was for me they were singing and applauding. I really want to thank them for that moment. On my first match, it’s something I’ll never forget and I hope I’ll be able to give them many more moments to applaud for me in the future.
Who is your favourite opponent in the next round of the Cup and why?
Doesn’t matter. In the cup they all have to go for the axe. (Lloci laughs)
