Kvc westerlo wins against national U21 team

First half: 0-1

Line-up KVC Westerlo: Van Langendonck, Janssens, Yameogo, Seigers, Soumah, Seydoux, Keïta, Van Eenoo, Abrahams, Vetokele, Çiçek

KVC Westerlo started the match well with a lot of pressure up front. Westelo took the lead a little after the opening quarter, although the flag went up immediately. Atabey Çiçek had his goal disallowed for offside. The national placards had a mediocre start. Coach Jacky Mathijssen chose to sit in the stands, leaving Thomas Buffel to do the honours.

The first real chance for the youngsters was an immediate hit. Limbombe made a clever move, reached the back line and played Luca Oyen into the penalty area. The young Genk player managed to work the ball past Van Langendonck. This also made it the half-time score.

Second half: 3-1

Line-up KVC Westerlo: Van Langendonck, Mabea, Perdichizzi, Biset, Remmer, Lloci, Paulet, Antunes, Alici, Dierckx, Vaesen (from minute 60)

Immediately after the break, Westerlo were able to equalise via Atabey Çiçek. The Turkish striker coolly finished off the chance. At the hour mark, a complete new team took the field. Only goalkeeper Van Langendonck stayed on. It was waiting for Westerlo’s final offensive to put the game in a final corner. Vaesen and Alici scored a goal each in the end for a 3-1 final score.

Westerlo heads for ’t Lisp next Sunday with two victories!
