Killer instinct

On Friday evening Westerlo welcomed the youngsters of Club NXT in ’t Kuipje. Again it was a difficult match for our kemphanen against the last one in the league. The big difference with a few weeks ago is that Westel got the killer instinct and pulled the match towards him in the second half without being really dangerous.

The red card for Keïta brought some excitement in the match but the 10 remaining kemphanen held up and made it 17 out of 21. With only one game left to go for the winter break, Westerlo can achieve a great result. Next Sunday’s opponent is none other than leader Union SG. The people of Brussels took the 3 points out of ’t Kuipje with a humiliating 1-4 result a month ago.

Union SG was one size too big on all counts. In the meantime, Westel is starting to get under steam again and next Sunday’s match will be a real gauge of value. If Westerlo wants to claim the first 2 places that entitle him to promotion, he has to try to be the equal of leader Union SG.
