Important win

Today we had an important away match against Waasland-Beveren on the programme. The match ended in a 0-2 victory.

Line-up KVC Westerlo: David Jensen, Leo Seydoux, Pietro Perdichizzi, Rubin Seigers, Kouya Mabea , Lukas Van Eenoo, Thomas Van den Keybus, Maxim De Cuyper, Tuur Dierckx, Jan Bernat, Kyan Vaesen

First Half

The start of the first half was rather quiet until Tuur Dierckx opened the scoring in the 21st minute. After a corner kick the ball landed perfectly in his feet and he put it nicely in the bottom right corner. After that we were the dominant team for the rest of the first half, with a strong advantage in ball possession.

In the 45th minute Ján Bernát put the 0-2 on the scoreboard, taking a well-deserved lead into the dressing room.

Second Half

In the second half, the tempo was clearly lower than in the first half. Waasland-Beveren immediately had a huge chance at an open goal, but the ball was kicked just wide. Our Kemphans get away with it. The Waaslanders put a lot of pressure on, so Westerlo have to play very cautiously.

Ten minutes before the end Lyle Foster got in front of goal twice but was unable to get the ball in. A few minutes later Waasland-Beveren were awarded a penalty but it was kicked high over by Kevin Hoggas.

Tuur Dierckx (21′)

Ján Bernát (45′)
