First team visits Ziekenhuis Geel
Last week our first team visits the children’s ward of Hospital Geel. After an explanation of ‘Planeet Goudgeel’ by CEO Jan Flament, they visited the children’s ward. This visit was the starting shot of a beautiful, long-term collaboration between KVC Westerlo and Hospital Geel. KVC Westerlo is happy to put its shoulders under the ‘Planet Goudgeel’ project.
By building a new children’s hospital, the hospital wants to create a total experience where they do everything to forget being sick and let children be children. This is not only positive for the mental well-being of the child, but also for the parents and the care personnel themselves. For them, they are no longer called Hospital Geel, but ‘Planeet Goudgeel’. When they come to the hospital they make a space journey to ‘Planet Goudgeel’. With this patient experience, they want to go even deeper with innovative technological means (Virtual Reality, light perception, interactive screens, …) Reception, corridors, waiting room, play area, consultation and patient rooms will be adapted to the children on their space journey towards health.
