OKTAY ERCAN

President – Owner

Oktay Ercan is a Turkish businessman who employs over 10,000 people. He is mostly active in the textile industry. He acquired KVC Westerlo in 2019. He was drawn to Kempen by the opportunity to integrate young talent combined with a manageable cost base.

He insisted from the outset that the family club culture would be maintained but did not shy away from sporting ambitions. Together with the board, he composed the five-point plan to realize KVC Westerlo 2024.

HASAN CETINKAYA

Vice-President

Hasan Cetinkaya is a man of high standing in Turkish and European Football, where he successively fulfilled management positions at Gençlerbirliği SK, Gaziantepspor, Ankaraspor and Fenerbahçe SK. At the latter, he functioned as Head of Football Operations for ten years. As such, he possesses an extensive network in the football world and was appointed vice president in 2019.

As vice president, he will fulfil daily management of the club and will be continually present at the club.  He sets the course and ensures that the interest of KVC Westerlo always comes first.

WIM VAN HOVE

Managing Director

Wim van Hove has lived in Westerlo almost his entire life and is a former player of the club. He started his career as lawyer and later became a permanent addition to the club. He has been employed at KVC Westerlo since 1993. First as legal counsellor but quickly as part of the board of directors. Since then, he has worked his way up to managing director. Among other things, he co-authored the first extensive collective agreement that contributes to the social protection of paid football players and trainers.

He and KVC Westerlo have faced many challenges, the highlight being the Cup of Belgium the club won in 2001. Over the last years, he has undertaken to avert bankruptcy and return the club to where it belongs, namely the first division. With his years of experience and affiliation, he safeguards the local and cultural roots of the club.
