A look in the archive: Sporting Charleroi

KVC Westerlo meets Sporting Charleroi in the next round of the Croky cup!
We already had the opportunity to visit the zebras in the stade du pays de Charleroi 18 times. Even when it was called stade de Mambourg for EURO 2000.

The last confrontations date from 2019, 2017 and 2015 respectively. In these 3 matches our kemphanen barely reached 1 paltry point. Except for the match in 2019 for play-off 2, these were the years when it was difficult and the relegation was waiting for us in season 2016-2017.

Going a little deeper back in time to the years 2014, 2010, 2009, 2008 we never lost a single time visiting Charleroi! With 2 narrow victories and 2 draws, moving to Charleroi always brought excitement and spectacle. Think of players like Dirar, Ruiz, Yakovenko, Paulo Henrique and also current player Christian Brüls who made the beautiful weather for KVC Westerlo.

If we look to the present, it is clear that the ambition within the entire KVC Westerlo family is great to regain a place in the highest regions of Belgian football. Charleroi, too, has been on the rise in recent years and can even call itself the proud leader of 1A at this time of writing.

Match day and hour are not yet known but we are already looking forward to this confrontation!
